Of Mothers by Karen Rust
Whilst undertaking the reminiscing sessions at Affinity Day Care C.I.C. I rewatched Sofia Coppola’s film, Lost in Translation. The soundtrack, particularly Death in Vegas’ track, Girls, provided the inspiration for this audio creation; I wanted to create a similar ethereal feeling. The red kite cry at the start and end represents North Northants, where I live. It’s impossible to walk or drive around our fair county without hearing these birds, and their sound instantly makes me think of the countryside, where Nancy, the star of this track, spent so much time as a child.
