60 Miles presents:
Community Comics

60 Miles are delighted to be returning with a brand new arts, heritage and community project about the people of Northamptonshire, made possible with funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

60 Miles presents: Community Comics centres the often-overlooked local communities who exist outside the mainstream narrative of Northants’ rich social heritage.

Facilitated by Northampton legend Laura Graham, six local community groups were paired with six Comic Book Artists & Writers to capture the range of experiences that make up the place we all call home through an exciting range of perspectives, forms and styles.

Each artist created a 10-page comic following three sessions with their group. The comics are supplemented by two additional pieces (such as creative writing, interviews or research pieces) overseen by Heritage Communicators. Additional oral history recordings are also available to listen to beside these.

Crucially, all of the material has been collated into a single collection, uniting Northants’ experiences together for people now and in the future.
