We’re delighted you want to be part of 60 Miles by Rail or Road! This project is all about championing you and your memories and stories of Northampton and Corby over the last 70 years.

In 1968 Northampton was designated a third-wave New Town and underwent a significant period of rapid expansion extremely quickly. From the building of the Eastern District to the demolition of many loved historic buildings in the town centre, it was a period that changed Northampton forever. Corby’s New Town journey began even earlier, in 1950 when it was designated a first-wave New Town.

60 Miles by Rail or Road is capturing the heritage and history of Northampton and Corby through a range of storytelling, film and photo projects and we want to hear about your experiences.

Did you live in Northampton or Corby when they became New Towns or did you move here as part of the expansions? Maybe you helped to build them or worked with their development corporations? Perhaps you, your parents or grandparents grew up here and you want to share stories and photos?

Whatever you have to say, we’re here to listen. Please start by filling out this short form and we will be in touch about how you can get involved.
